You will not believe how ridiculously excited I am to announce the details of my senior model program for the class of 2014!

Who is a senior model, you ask?

• Firstly and most importantly, he or she is a proud fan of my (JKH's) portrait work and wants to help spread the word about the amazing senior portrait experience I offer.

• Second, as a model you must not think of yourself as a beauty model, but as a model example of a high school senior. You are a nice person, try to do your best at school, and are an active part of your school or community in some way through sports, activities, volunteering, youth groups etc. We don't require future Harvard scholars here, just genuine, nice people.

• Thirdly, you must be in the graduating class of 2014 and able to travel to the Portland area or the North Oregon Coast for photo events and gatherings as scheduled.

• Lastly, let's not forget, you have to have your parent's permission :)

Tell me more, you ask?

The idea is that our models will share their amazing experience and stunning images with their peers and will encourage others to also have their photos done by JKH. While recruiting new clients you earn yourself credit to use toward your purchase of prints and products of your senior photos.

Our models get so much for participating in our model program, a boatload of fun, 2 free photo sessions for their senior portraits, a chance to make new friends from other schools, discounts off prints and products and definite bragging rights.

Here is what our models get:

• A free group portrait session with hair and makeup done by a professional stylist in the Spring of your Junior year.
• A second full senior portrait session in the beginning of your senior year. Yes, you read that right, 2 free sessions!
• A group shopping trip and day out with JKH and other senior models. This is a great opportunity to make new friends from other schools.
• 50 senior rep cards to pass out to help you gain referrals.
• Watermarked Facebook photos to share
• A custom image sharing app for your iphone, ipad, smartphone or tablet. With the custom app wherever you go you'll have photos to share.
• Earn $50 credit for each referral you send to JKH to spend on print products and graduation announcements.

I was so excited to share this styled beauty session video with April this afternoon. After she saw it she said, "I just can't believe that's me?!"

What is a Styled Beauty Shoot?
A beautiful woman is in all of us. You too can feel as beautiful as you truly are. We will have a pre-session consultation to discuss your wardrobe, hair and makeup. On the day of your photo shoot you will have your hair and makeup done by a professional stylist while enjoying champagne and yummy treats. I will help you to style and choose the perfect look for each background and location. Once in front of the camera I will guide you through movement and posing to capture you at your absolute best and always in a flattering light. After your session is over you will get sneak peeks on facebook for all your family and friends to oooo and aahhh over. After all of your images have gone through post production we will schedule a meeting for the unveiling of your finished images in my home studio. At that time you can place your order for prints, wall art, or albums. Your custom unveiling video is also available to purchase on a keepsake DVD.

As women we can be so hard on ourselves. Our culture and society has ridiculous expectations of how a woman should look in the media and public eye, but you need to remember no matter how you look to yourself...

What to Wear for Your Family Portraits {Oregon portrait photography by Jaime Kae Hazen}

Not sure what to wear for your family portraits? Here is a simple way to make sure you all look great without being too matchy-matchy :)

First choose an outfit for one member of your family incorporating a variety of colors. Say you choose 

to put Dad in a plaid shirt that has tangerine, navy and white in it. Then dress the rest of the family in those same colors without going too wild with competing patterns, more pattern can be used when there are more people in the group. You can also add complementing neutral colors into the mix too; such as tan, cream, beige, khaki, white, or black. Variety is key to looking stylish and put together. Mix up pants, skirts, jeans, and shorts while keeping with what is appropriate for the season. You don't want to be wearing a cozy warm sweater while your child has on a t-shirt and shorts when we are shooting your portraits in a location with fall leaves. Also try to include accessories for the whole family like scarves, jewelry, hats, bracelets, or flowers in the hair.

This family here put together the ideal look while still being able to keep their own individual styles.

I am always here to help you decide what to wear. I love to sit down over coffee to discuss all of the details of my clients sessions. I am also open to meeting at the mall (Don't let me husband see this! LOL!) or do a little online shopping over our coffee.

Dani Sellars Senior Portrait Photography {Seaside High School - Class of 2013}

We took Dani's senior photos on the beach in Manzanita, Oregon on one of the most beautiful evenings this September. Dani is a little tom boy and a little girly so we went with using her 4 wheeler and more girly things like pretty dresses to show her two sides.

Here is the video the Dani and her family were able to see of her images last night at her unveiling and ordering session. You must turn up your volume and make the video fill up your screen to get the full effect. I hope you enjoy!
